| "silo
circling sound" is a Yokomono sound installation
specially conceived for a silo and commissioned by the neon
gallery in Stockholm. The installation will be designed to interact
with the circular construction the silo. Radios will move around
the space creating two free-cycling sounds and allowing visitors
to sonically explore the architectural dimensions of the space.
The installation will use three FM transmitters tuned to the
same frequency to create three levels of sound. Four small transistor
radios tuned to the transmitters and acting as speakers will
be mounted on two model trains running along tracks that circle
to the top of the silo and cycle slowly down again. The train
will run in and out of each FM stream thereby mapping the transmission
fields.
